”Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” Yeah, whatever. Just whatever.

That’s what I thought and still think of that quote.

Considering I have been blessed with the skill to see the beauty in the conventionally ugly, I wanna spread that special eyesight.

Who am I to do this?

I’m Natasha, a teenager from the ‘much-troubled’ Zimbabwe. Nevertheless, I think my country is beautiful. Seriously.

  • Victory Falls
  • Kariba Dam
  • Great Masvingo

Tourist attractions in Zimbabwe, to name a few.

Yeah, you don’t see the beauty, but I do. That’s why people dislike me. But that’s alright, as long as I can see the beauty.

Florence and the Machine – strong lyrics and weirdness. Maylee Todd – fun and weirdness. Janelle Monae – charisma and weirdness.

The weird ones are the innovative ones.

I’m weird and innovative.

I abhor normal, conventional and ‘acceptable’.

Yeah, I’m a thinker. In the past few months, I’ve been thinking about ‘perspective’ a lot. I actually think that life revolves around perspective. Reason is life is the way it is depending on how you look at it. If you think that one problem has no possible solution, therefore life is horrible, that’s just one side of the story. But if you think of solutions and solve (at least try to) your problems, life becomes a tinsy-winsy easier. Look, all I’m trying to saying is the reason why we hate or love certain things is because we try to focus on the good side or the bad side of the issue. Keeping an open mind has allowed me to look at both perspectives of situations and come to a conclusion on what’s best for me. So two things here dudes, keeping an open mind and perspective!

So I see so many people trying to be like the mainstream celebrities. Well, I’m not like them and because of that, people find me weird. I’ve set ground rules for myself; promising that I’ll be true to be myself and do what I want to. You could try the same. Just find the inner you that’s trying to be seen and heard. It’ll work, but be prepared for rejection. Like they say, ”It’s better to be yourself and have no public that to have a public and lose yourself.” Or something like that…..PEACE!
